About Us
Sound Therapeutics is committed to providing the highest quality of therapeutic services to children and their families. An integrated, multidisciplinary approach is utilized which encourages communication between professionals and their families. In addition to expertise in their respective fields, each professional is knowledgeable of overall child development. We require our professionals to attend continuing education courses, and many have completed specialized certification programs.

Our agency focuses on a team approach when evaluating a child and determining treatment strategies. The child's family and caregivers are considered to be an integral part of the child's overall development; therefore, family training and involvement are fostered in order to discover and optimize each child's individual potential.

The Sound Approach
Unlike many other agencies providing pediatric services, Sound Therapeutics is a professional corporation that is owned and managed by licensed health care professionals who continue to practice in the field. In this way, the agency is able to keep abreast of new topics and changes in regulations that affect the provision of early intervention and preschool services. As active therapists, we continue to be sensitive to the needs of children and their families. We use the Sound Approach when working with the children and their families.

We expect our therapists to be as supportive as possible with the families and with other professionals, for they are involved in a learning experience where everyone can benefit because each child's story is different and can open up new possibilities each day. We also encourage our therapists to assist families in seeking out appropriate community resources that may benefit their child and family.

We expect our therapists to be optimistic regarding the potential of the children and families they are servicing. We encourage both therapists and parents to view each child as a unique individual who's potential is unknown and not yet totally revealed, as it is constantly changing with each day of growth and development. Over the years the children themselves have proven to us that the words, "can't, never", etc. do not exist for them.

We expect our therapists to be understanding of the difficulties in having a child with a disability and to show empathy towards each family, while recognizing differences in parenting styles and family structures. We all know that some days may be more difficult than others, for the children, parents, and/or therapists.

We expect our therapists to be nurturing and caring as they work towards promoting each child's total development and providing strategies and exercises for parents/caregivers to carry over outside of their actual treatment sessions. For it is with the total involvement of the family that the most progress can be made.

We expect our therapists to be dedicated professionals, dedicated to the children and the families they service and dedicated to our agency. Therapists will continue to grow as professionals by sharing their knowledge and expertise with other professionals and the families that rely on them. Our reputation has been built on the many years of work and diverse experience of our dedicated professionals.

Services can be provided in the home, nursery school, and/or day care center or at one of our conveniently located pediatric treatment facilities, according to the child's IFSP (birth -3) or IEP (3-5 years). Standard office hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Evaluations are by appointment. Evening and Saturday appointments are available.

We are participating providers in most major insurance plans including Multiplan, Empire Healthchoice, Cigna, IGA, United Healthcare, Oxford, Aetna/US Healthcare.
